%X £¿Anefficient,environmentallyfriendlyprocedureforthesynthesisofamidoalkylnaphtholsthroughtheone-pot,three-componentreactionof¦Â-naphthol,arylaldehydes,andacetamideinthepresenceofacarbon-basedsolidacidunderthermalsolvent-freeconditionsisdescribed.Thebeneficialfeaturesofthisnewsyntheticapproachincludeshortreactiontime,highyields,cleanreactionprofiles,andasimplework-upprocedure.Furthermore,thecatalystcanbereadilyrecycledandreusedfourtimeswithoutobvioussignificantlossofactivity.ThestructureofthecatalystwasconfirmedbyFouriertransforminfraredspectroscopy,N2adsorption/desorptionanalysis,andX-raydiffraction.
