%0 Journal Article %T SiO2-Cu2O£ºAnefficientandrecyclableheterogeneouscatalystforN-benzylationofprimaryandsecondaryamines %A Manjulla Gupta %A Satya Paul %A Rajive Gupta %J ´ß»¯Ñ§±¨ %P 444-450 %D 2014 %R 10.1016/S1872-2067(14)60009-7 %X £¿Amild,effective,andselectiveprocedureisreportedforthemonoN-benzylationandN,N-dibenzylationofprimaryaminesaswellasmonoN-benzylationofsecondaryaminesusingsilica-supportedcopper(I)oxideinwater.Thesilica-supportedCu2OwasgeneratedinsitubythereactionofFehlingsolutionandglucoseat100¡æontoactivatedsilica.Thecatalystwasfiltered,washedwithwater,andoven-dried,andwascharacterizedbyFouriertransforminfraredspectroscopy,thermogravimetricanalysis,scanningelectronmicroscopy,transmissionelectronmicroscopy,andatomicabsorptionspectroscopy.ThepreparedCu2O-SiO2wasfoundtobethermallystableupto325¡æ.Thecopperwasuniformlydistributedontothesurfaceofthesilica,andthemeanparticlediameterwas7nm.ThecatalystservedasaselectiveheterogenouscatalystfortheN-benzylationofprimaryandsecondaryamines.Thecatalystisrecyclableandwasusedeffectivelyuptofifthrunwithoutasignificantlossofcatalyticactivity.Variousreactionsolventsincludingwater,acetonitrile,andtoluenewerescreenedforN-benzylationofamines,andthesuccessoftheaqueoussystemhighlightsthelowenvironmentalimpactoftheprocedure. %K Silicasupportedcopper(I)oxide %K Benzylation %K Substitutedamine %K Recyclability %K Heterogeneouscatalysis %U http://www.chxb.cn/CN/abstract/abstract21247.shtml
