%X ？Terrain-aidednavigation(TAN)usesterrainheightvariationsunderanaircrafttorenderthepositionestimatetoboundtheinertialnavigationsystem(INS)error.Thispaperproposesanewterrainelevationmatching(TEM)model,viz.Hidden-Markov-model(HMM)basedTEM(HMMTEM)model.Withthegivenmodel,anHMMTEMalgorithmusingViterbialgorithmisdesignedandimplementedtoestimatethepositionerrorinINS.ThesimulationresultsshowthatHMMTEMalgorithmcanbetterimprovethepositioningprecisionofautonomousnavigationthanSITANalgorithm.
