%X Underthestrictlyanaerobicconditions,thequantitiesof,sulfatereducingbacteria,fermentativebacteris,cellulolyticbacteriaandmethanogenicbacteriaofserialgeologicalquaiernarysamplesgotfromanerectsectionofeastinQaidambasin.Themorphologyofdifferentkindsofbacteriawereobservedandthemetabolictypeofmethanogenicbacteriawereobserved.Theresultshowthattheprocessofreducingsulfateendedandthemethanogenicprocessbegan.Thedistributionsoffermentativebacteriaandcellulolyticbacteriaaretandom,theyhavenorelationshipwiththecontentoforganicmatterandcellulose.Themorphologyofbacteriaindifferentsamplesaredifferent.Themethanogenicbacteriaonlypresentinpartofsamples.AllofthemethanogenicbacteriabelongtothepopulationofMethanobacteriumandthetypeofnutrimentisH2/CO2.
