%0 Journal Article %T 会议报道:北京生物入侵国际研讨会:2004年6月6日-11日 %A ALPERT Peter %A 缪世利 %A 董鸣 %A 韩兴国 %J 植物生态学报 植物生态学报 %P 520-522 %D 2005 %X ?Scientistsandpolicy-makersarenowwellawareoftheecologicalandsocietalproblemsassociatedwiththeintroductionofspeciesbyhumansacrossnaturalbarrierstodispersal.Someintroducedspeciesspreadabundantlyintheirnewhabitatsandhavenegativeeffectsonexistingspecies,bothagriculturalandnatural.Suchintroduced,invasivespeciescanalterfire,nutrient,andhydrologicalregimesandhavelargeeconomiccosts.Inmanypartsoftheworld,thisawarenesshascomeratherlate:commerceandtravelhavealreadycarriedlargenumbersofplants,animals,andmicrobesbetweenmanyregions.Incontrast,China'srelativeself-removefromglobaltradeduringmuchofthesecondhalfofthe20thcenturymayhaveearneditapartialreprievefrominvasionsfromabroadandreducedthenumberofinvasionsfromChinatoelsewhere.Ifso,therecouldbeanewwaveofspeciesinvasionsbetweenChinaandNorthAmericaimpending.China'stradewiththeU.S.increasedby460%from1992to2002,accordingtotheU.S.DepartmentofCommerce.ThismaybethecriticalmomenttoapplythelessonslearnedfrominvasionsacrossotheroceansandforestallnewinvasionsacrossthePacific.Weneedtomatchgrowthintradewithgrowthinthescienceandpolicyneededtopreventandcontrolintroductions.Tothisend,some100scientistsandrepresentativesofgovernmentalandnon-governmentalorganisationsfromeightcountriesgatheredonJune6-11fortheBeijingInternationalSymposiumonBiologicalInvasions,subtitled"SpeciesExchangesBetweenEasternAsiaandNorthAmerica:ThreatstoEnvironmentandEconomy".TheInstituteofBotanyoftheChineseAcademyofSciencesandtheSino-EcologistsClubOverseasorganizedthemeeting,undertheleadershipofXinguoHanandMingDongfortheInstituteandShiliMiaofortheClub.TheNationalScienceFoundationofChina,theU.S.GeologicalSurvey,andtheAsianEcologySectionoftheEcologicalSocietyofAmericaprovidedadditionalsupport.ShiliMiaoandJianhuiHuangcoordinatedtheprogramandlogistics,andtheBeijingBotanicalGardenprovidedthevenue,appropriatelystockedwithintroducedplantsfromaroundtheworld,presumablynon-invasiveones.Thereweretwokeynoteaddresses.HaroldMooney(Stanford,USA)highlightedtheneedforscientiststodevelopquantitativetoolsthatmanagerscanusetoanalyzetheextentandtheimpactsofinvasions.RichardMack(WashingtonState,USA)notedthatthephylogenetic,latitudinal,andclimaticsimilaritiesbetweenChinaandtheU.S.maypredisposeintroductionsfromonetotheothertobloomintoinvasions.The37othertalksandthepostersfocusedoncurrentpatternsofinvasionineasternAsia,thetheoryofinvasions,techniquestomanageinvasions,andpoliciestopreventthem. %U http://www.plant-ecology.com/CN/abstract/abstract8479.shtml
