Cloud Computing (MC2) is the paradigm evolved to serve the centralized cloud
services or data in to the mobile end users as mobile device usage is
increasing rapidly including in the rural areas. With the advent of e-governance applications
in cloud like Opendata, are targeted users including rural user base which
brings challenges with nature of constrained devices. The Internet connectivity
from remote and rural areas is a problem with existing data networks for
accessing these cloud services. Network such as SMS channels are rich in
connectivity, comparison with internet to rural areas can act as alternative
medium. This SMS networks has emerged as disjoint channels with regard to
accessing of cloud services. From this, we proposed a SMS based Mobile Cloud
Service Delivery Platform (SMCSDP) for mobile-cloud interactions. It designed
to provide adaptive & secure platform based on two components, a server
component which integrates with the cloud back-ends do necessary translations,
gateway operations for the Client SMS requests and the client component which
runs on user device, which acts as a SMS based browser and puts the requests
through SMS channel as in secure service request format. The SMCSDP paradigm
acts as an end-to-end proxy between mobile device and actual cloud server and
empowers constrained devices for better service experience.
