This increase results as a consequence of active force piezoactuation within the system. The system is controlled by a state space and sliding mode controller (SMC) and demonstrates a significant increase in dynamic stiffness of the target part of the structure. Presented concept aims at machine tools sector where mechanical compliance poses a major obstacle in achieving higher transfer and cutting speeds. Experimental test rig was built in order to verify the proposed concept. %K compliant structures %K dynamic stiffness %K mechatronics %K piezoactuation. %U http://bulletin-am.cz/index.php/vam/article/view/104
