%X L¡¯utilisation du st¨¦r¨¦otype romanesque par les surr¨¦alistes dans les ann¨¦es vingt permet d¡¯¨¦crire des romans surr¨¦alistes ¨¦vitant les orni¨¨res du roman r¨¦aliste d¨¦nonc¨¦es par Andr¨¦ Breton : les   grosses ficelles   du roman populaire fonctionnent comme un   secret de l¡¯art magique surr¨¦aliste   en nouant la narration et en ¨¦vitant l¡¯¨¦cueil de la psychologie. Mais ¨¤ cet usage narratologique et critique se combine une jouissance de la lecture et de l¡¯¨¦criture romanesques qui apparie le st¨¦r¨¦otype au fantasme ¨¦rotique. En jouant, de surcro t, des invraisemblances romanesques, les surr¨¦alistes battent en br¨¨che l¡¯attitude r¨¦aliste face au monde et nourrissent le sens du merveilleux n¨¦cessaire ¨¤ l¡¯¨¦mergence du surr¨¦el. L¡¯emploi ludique du st¨¦r¨¦otype s¡¯accompagne ainsi de l¡¯exploitation de ses ressources passionnantes. The use of novelistic stereotypes by surrealists during the 1920s permitted the composition of literary works while avoiding the problem of the realistic novel genre that Andr¨¦ Breton denounced ; the obvious tricks of the popular novel work as ¡°a secret of surrealist art¡± by structuring narration and avoiding the trap of psychology. However, this narratological and critical use is combined with the pleasure of novel reading and writing that links stereotypes to erotic fantasies. By playing, moreover, on novelistic improbabilities, surrealists demolish the realistic attitude towards the world and nourish the sense of fantasy that is necessary to the emergence of the surreal. Along with a playful use of stereotypes, surrealists fully exploit their fascinating possibilities.
