%X The study is an attempt to apply the concept of reliability, the most important feature of operating machinery and equipment technioznych, the national power system which is one of the major, if not essential part of the national economy. It is a serial structure of the system, and the members of this structure, as subsystems. It shows that a decisive role in achieving reliability is a subsystem manufacturing, and the teams of steam power units. Analyze the reliability of boilers, pipelines, turbines, generators and transformers. The role of statistics as a tool to test the reliability of power units.
