Nous nous proposons d¡¯¨¦tudier la mani¨¨re dont, de livre en livre, William Burroughs construit un v¨¦ritable r¨¦seau de st¨¦r¨¦otypes personnels qui lui permettent de mettre en place une identit¨¦ textuelle forte, selon ce qu¡¯on pourrait qualifier d¡¯autost¨¦r¨¦otypie (St¨¦phanie Orace et Jean-Louis Dufays). L¡¯application de la th¨¦orie de l¡¯autost¨¦r¨¦otypie sur un texte r¨¦sistant comme le texte cut-up burrougshien permet de d¨¦passer les limites des diff¨¦rents th¨¦ories de l¡¯intertextualit¨¦ (transtextualit¨¦, autotextualit¨¦, intratextualit¨¦) et de tenter une th¨¦orisation ¨¤ un niveau plus global des ph¨¦nom¨¨nes de reprises textuelles litt¨¦rales, tronqu¨¦es, r¨¦¨¦crites ou remont¨¦es sur un corpus de textes d¨¦fini. The American writer William Burroughs, in his Trilogy written and published from 1960 to 1968 (The Soft Machine, The Ticket That Exploded, Nova Express) has largely used, via his ¡°cut-up¡± technique of cutting/reassembling different texts, directly or indirectly, every type of texts and literatures, including popular literatures. More generally he used some techniques of repeating a continuous text, literally or incompletely. We study the way in which, book after book, William Burroughs built a network of personal stereotypes which enable him to establish a strong textual identity, according to what is essentially called ¡°autost¨¦r¨¦otypie¡± (Stephanie Orace and Jean-Louis Dufays). The application of the theory of ¡°autost¨¦r¨¦otypie¡± on ¡°resisting¡± texts as the cut-up burrougshian text enable to go further than with the use of the numerous theories of intertextuality (¡°transtextualit¨¦¡±, ¡°autotextualit¨¦¡±, ¡°intratextualit¨¦¡±); it also enables to theorize to a more global level the use of textual rewriting on a certain kind of text. %K r¨¦¨¦criture %K intertextualit¨¦ %K st¨¦r¨¦otype %K autost¨¦r¨¦otypie %K cut-up %K collage %K montage %U http://narratologie.revues.org/1268
