%X Avec l'av¨¨nement de la r¨¦publique populaire de Chine le 1er octobre 1949 et le repli concomitant des institutions de la r¨¦publique de Chine ¨¤ Taiwan, la fronti¨¨re sino-taiwanaise est, depuis lors, l'objet d'un contentieux multiforme, tant en ce qui concerne son trac¨¦ que son statut. Bien que P¨¦kin ne soit pas parvenu ¨¤ exercer son contr le sur l' le de Taiwan, la fronti¨¨re sino-taiwanaise n'est pas reconnue comme une fronti¨¨re inter¨¦tatique, ni par le r¨¦gime chinois, ni par la communaut¨¦ internationale. Pour autant, si le maintien du statu quo reste l'objectif prioritaire des dirigeants taiwanais, quel que soit le parti au pouvoir, les clivages partisans s'ordonnent autour de l'alternative r¨¦unification/ind¨¦pendance. En outre, le vaste mouvement de d¨¦localisation de l'industrie taiwanaise sur le continent a engendr¨¦ un processus complexe d'ouverture de la fronti¨¨re mais qui va de pair avec sa militarisation croissante.(The Sino-Taiwan border has been an issue, both in terms of its location and its legal status, since the creation of the PRC on October 1, 1949 and the establishment of the ROC in Taiwan. While Beijing has been unable to exert control over Taiwan, the Sino-Taiwanese border is not recognized either by the PRC or the international community, as a border between nation states. Maintaining the status quo is the primary objective of the Taiwanese authorities, regardless of who is in power. Partisan division exists however on the question of two possible alternatives¡ªreunification or independence. Moreover, the significant delocalization of Taiwanese industry to the continent has spawned a complex process to open the border, which is accompanied by its increased militarization).
