%X ¨¤ Skopje, les chr¨¦tiens comme ailleurs dans l¡¯Empire accueillent favorablement les Jeunes-Turcs ; en revanche, les musulmans, le plus souvent des Albanais, sont assez hostiles, attach¨¦s au sultan, craignant de s¡¯¨¦loigner de la char 'a et peu d¨¦sireux de donner des pouvoirs aux chr¨¦tiens. Ceux-ci d¡¯ailleurs ne d¨¦passent pas leurs divisions entre   nations   et ob¨¦diences religieuses, ce qui limite donc la   fraternit¨¦   annonc¨¦e, puisqu¡¯aucun groupe ne dissout ses bandes arm¨¦es. In Skopje, as nearly everywhere in the Ottoman Empire Christians populations greeted the Young Turks movement with enthusiasm. On the contrary, the muslims, most often Albanians in this case, are rather hostile, from commitment to the Sultan, and not wishing to move away from the serya or give powers to the Christians.
