Guimond (1999) hasestablished that the Aboriginal population, both in terms of origin and identity, has grown rapidlyand that an important component of that growth has come from personal changes in the ethnicaffiliation. This finding begs the question: what are the characteristics of the people changing theiraffiliation? Using census data, this study will focus on the highest level of schooling variable forthe population reporting Aboriginal origins and Aboriginal identity and show how this characteristicis changing in a selected age cohort over the ten year period 1986-96. %K Aboriginal population %K ethnic origin %K aboriginal identity %K ethnic mobility %K education levels %U http://www.canpopsoc.ca/CanPopSoc/assets/File/publications/journal/CSPv30n1p137.pdf
