%X Always restarting, the reading of the Baroque and the attempt to use its far-fetched code appear in a special way in two writings lodged by Haroldo de Campos: a monograph on the seventeenth-century poet Gregorio de Matos and the book Gal¨¢xias. Both texts, however, seem to point to different ways of understanding (and use) the Baroque, ranging from the thought of the beginning and the start, i.e., from a beginning point that provides a view of the future and an opening between the time that allows the emergence of events differentially. Key-words: Baroque, beginning, start, poetry, origin, language. Sempre recome ando, a leitura do Barroco e a tentativa de usar o seu c¨®digo rebuscado surgem de modo privilegiado em dois trabalhos apresentados por Haroldo de Campos: a monografia sobre o poeta do s¨¦culo XVII Greg¨®rio de Matos e o livro-ensaio Gal¨¢xias. Os dois textos, no entanto, parecem apontar para modos diferentes de compreender (e usar) o Barroco, oscilando entre o pensamento do in¨ªcio e do come o, ou seja, entre um ponto de partida que determina uma perspectiva do futuro e uma abertura do tempo que possibilita a emerg¨ºncia dos acontecimentos diferencialmente.
