%X Cuphea glutinosa Cham. et Schlecht. es una especie conocida por sus propiedades diur谷ticas e hipotensoras. Sin embargo, no hay antecedentes sobre las relaciones de esta especie con el ambiente. Los objetivos del presente trabajo fueron determinar la cobertura de C. glutinosa y de la flora acompa ante, estudiar su morfolog赤a y arquitectura en diferentes condiciones ambientales, y analizar las caracter赤sticas de algunos suelos en donde crece. Se trabaj車 en tres sierras del Sistema de Tandilia. Sierra Bachicha, con la menor perturbaci車n antr車pica, present車 la menor cobertura de C. glutinosa, con la mayor riqueza espec赤fica y diversidad. Sierra de los Padres, con la mayor perturbaci車n antr車pica, present車 la mayor cobertura de C. glutinosa y la menor riqueza y diversidad. Se observaron variaciones morfol車gicas en sitios con baja luminosidad manifestadas en alargamiento de tallos, aumento del tama o de l芍mina foliar, disminuci車n de su grosor y de la densidad de pelos. C. glutinosa se present車 en suelos con diferentes caracter赤sticas en cuanto a profundidad, granulometr赤a y propiedades qu赤micas. Este estudio revela que esta especie presenta plasticidad fenot赤pica y puede prosperar en diferentes condiciones ambientales. Sin embargo, la especie estudiada fue m芍s abundante y vigorosa en sitios abiertos, con baja altura de la vegetaci車n y alta perturbaci車n antr車pica. Cuphea glutinosa Cham. et Schlecht. is known by its diuretic and hypotensive properties. However, there are no studies of the relations of this species with the environment where it grows. The objectives of the present work were to determine the cover of C. glutinosa and its associated flora, to analyze themorphology and architecture in different environmental conditions and to characterize some soils where it grew. The study was carried out in three hills of the Tandilia System. Sierra Bachicha, slightly disturbed, presented the lowest cover of C. glutinosa , but the highest richness and diversity. Sierra de los Padres, highly disturbed, had the greatest cover, but the lowest richness and diversity. Morphological variations were observed in sites with low sunlight such as stem elongations, greater leaf size with less thickness and lower trichome density. C. glutinosa was found in soils with different depth, granulometry and chemical properties. This study shows that this species presents phenotypic plasticity and can grow in different environmental conditions. Nevertheless, it was more abundant and vigorous in open places with low vegetation height and heavy disturbance.
