%X In the context of the Late Period in Antofagasta de la Sierra , La Alumbrera site would have constituted a residential center, politically important, related to Belen system. Moreover, this site shows characteristics associated to inka times. The existence of two halves inside the site, East and West, was proposed from studies on the circulation routes. This project looks for to explore the variation of artefactual lithic evidences from the two halves. We consider the lithic technology and the technological practices in complementary form to the data obtained from the architectonic configuration. The technology is a total, material, political and symbolic social phenomenon and these aspects come together not only on material styles but also in the technical elections throughout the productive process. This elections are contextualized socially actions, based in a shared understanding of how the things are done. With the objective to answer the question if between the lithic evidences obtained at the site is the dualism reproduced and how is it reproduced, we will approach to the technological choices throughout the process of production and use of the lithic artifacts and to the contexts of these artifacts in the greater set of vestiges. The cha ne op¨¦ratoire approach to technology will be useful. The cha ne op¨¦ratoire is the set of technical operations that result in the production of an object. Approach to step by step of the material procedures by which the people in the past produced and used their material culture informs not only about physical and environmental possibilities but also about the social context (familiar lineages, territoriality), knowledge and values in which these procedures were done. We analyze the artefactual lithic evidences from a techno-morphological and morphological-functional perspective. Finally, meticulous stratigraphic and contextual registries and the consideration of diverse contexts are necessary. We propose to extend the excavations and surface harvestings in La Alumbrera. Moreover , it will contribute to expand the knowledge of the Late and Inka periods in the microregion of Antofagasta de la Sierra.
