While each component of the state¡¯s criminal justice system faces unique problems, issues and challenges, as a direct result of this funding shortage, the net effect invariably impacts the other components and has cumulatively produced a System in Crisis. The paper concludes with a renewed call for increasing both federal and state funding to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the criminal justicesystem and to restore public confidence in the practitioners and policy makers who operate within, an oversee, this system of justice. %K Criminal Justice %K Funding %K Public Policy %K Federal %K State %U http://www.japss.org/upload/7.Yearwoodarticle.pdf
