%X Mumps is an acute viral infection characterized by painful enlargement of the salivary glands. Presternal edema, a rare complication of mumps, was encountered in a 9-year-old boy who was diagnosed as mumps. Edema disappeared spontaneously without any treatment with the recovery of mumps.
