Extract was also evaluated for analgesic activity using Eddy¡¯s hotplate method and formalin induced paw licking method in albino rats. The methanolextract showed significant (P < 0.001) reduction in the carrageenan-induced paw edemaand analgesic activity evidenced by increase in the reaction time by eddy¡¯s hot platemethod and percentage increase in pain in formalin test. The methanol extract showedanti-inflammatory and analgesic effect in dose dependent manner when compared withthe control and standard drug, diclofenac sodium (10mg/kg, p.o). These inhibitions werestatistically significant (P < 0.05). Thus our investigation suggests a potential benefit ofMurraya koenigii in treating conditions associated with inflammatory pain. %K Murraya koenigii %K Analgesic %K anti-inflammatory %K paw licking %U http://122.168.195.169/Online%20Admission/CourseInstr.aspx?STS=4&MID=63&Title=Leaves%20extract%20of%20Murraya%20koenigii%20Linn%20for%20anti-inflammatory%20and%20analgesic%20activity%20in%20animal%20models
