Rhetoric act cannot be considered separately from the body ¡°language¡±. Human gesture doesn¡¯t¡¯ refer to the motion display, but to the language. You might say, it expands the idea via movement to someone else (partner, listener, audience). The same statement, accompanied with different gestures, can have opposite meaning.
