Para ello nos centramos en los art赤culos recopilados por ella en Here and there in Yucatan (1886): analizamos la reconstrucci車n del pasado maya en t谷rminos ut車picos y la consideraci車n del Yucat芍n contempor芍neo en t谷rminos arc芍dicos. Ambos modelos sirven a la autora tanto para valorar la realidad mayanse como para criticar la degradaci車n de las sociedades modernas occidentales de las que ella form車 parte. The purpose of this paper is to present two possible epistemic models understood as models of interpretation and representation of a reality that accompanied Alice Dixon Le Plongeon on her trip around the Yucat芍n Peninsula in the second half of the 19th century. To do so, we focused on the articles which, she herself, compiled in Here and there in Yucat芍n (1886). In them we analyzed the reconstruction of the Mayan past in utopian terms, and the consideration of contemporary Yucat芍n in arcadian terms; the writer finds both models useful, not only to appraise Mayan reality but also to criticize the degradation of occidental modern socities of which she was part. %K Yucat芍n %K Alice Dixon Le Plongeon %K utop赤a %K arcadia %K representaci車n %K Yucatan %K Alice Dixon Le Plongeon %K utopia %K arcadia %K representation %U http://www.scielo.org.mx/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0185-25742011000200005
