In its complex imaginative constitution, narrative identity can then be characterized as a poetico-practical mix that mediates and puts in a dialectical relation two distinct functions of the imagination: a poetic and a practical one, which are themselves enlivened by a dialectic and an internal duplication. A partir d'une gen¨¨se du concept d'identit¨¦ narrative, cet article s'efforce d'interpr¨¦ter le processus de constitution de nos identit¨¦s narratives en prenant appui sur une reprise syst¨¦matique et synth¨¦tique des principaux apports de la th¨¦orie ric urienne de l'imagination depuis la Philosophie de la volont¨¦ jusqu¡¯¨¤ Soi-m¨ºme comme une autre.
