%X The sedimentary environment of the Guadix-Baza Depression sediments, between Upper Miocene and Upper Pleistocene as stratigraphical age, is described. The paleogeographical reconstruction of the basin shows the Depression divided in different areas, the eastern and western conected by a central area. The marginal deposits and the central part ones are fluvial sediments (Grupo Guadix); they change towards the center of two areas in lacustrine sediments (Grupo Hu谷lago in western area and Grupo Baza in eastern one), at the bottom of this last Group there are also marine sediments up to middle Pliocene, Vertebrate deposits and the influence of neotectonic in the Depression sedimentation in the time are described with more details. The next researchs, by an interdisciplinary group (in which the author works), for a best knowledge of the dinamic evolution of the Depression are planned. En este trabajo se hace el estudio de los ambientes sedimentarios de los materiales que rellenan la depresi車n de Guadix-Baza y que abarcan cronol車gicamente desde el Mioceno superior al Pleistoceno superior. Se hace una reconstrucci車n paleogeogr芍fica de la cuenca, que seg迆n sus caracter赤sticas puede dividirse en dos 芍reas: una oriental y otra occidental, comunicadas entre s赤 por una zona central. Los bordes de la cuenca y la parte central de la misma est芍n rellenos por materiales fluviales (Grupo Guadix) que cambian lateralmente a facies lacustres (Grupo Hu谷lago en el sector oeste ; y Grupo Baza, en el sector este) , en la base de est谷 迆ltimo Grupo hay materiales marinos hasta el Plioceno medio. Se hacen puntualizaciones sobre las localidades de vertebrados encontradas y el pape! de la neotect車nica en cuanto a la sedimentaci車n en la cuenca a lo largo del tiempo. Se plantean, asimismo, las principales l赤neas de investigaci車n a seguir dada la problem芍tica existente, por un equipo interdisciplinar (a uno de los cuales pertenece el autor), para una mayor comprensi車n de la evoluci車n din芍mica de la cuenca.
