%X Phytochemical investigation of the ethyl alcohol extract of the tender shoot of Bambusa bamboos (Linn.) Voss yielded p- hydroxybenzaldehyde, p- hydroxybenzoic acid, p- hydroxyphenylacetic acid, ¦Â-sitosterol and ¦Â-sitosterol-¦Â-D-glucopyranoside. All the compounds are reported for the first time from the tender shoot of Bambusa bamboos.
