Signi cant bene ts can also be achieved by utilization of energy efficiencypotential in circulating water systems in combined heat and power plants and heating plants. A comparisonbetween energy and economic eects of modernization of pumping systems and unit costs of new energysources is also made. It is shown that even highly expensive modernizations are twice less costly than theinvestment in the most economical energy source, i.e. the gas power plant. It is shown that, when consideringconstruction costs of new energy sources, one should take into account their capacity factors by determiningequivalent capital costs of the source referred to its continuous work in a year period, i.e. during 8 760 hrs.In these terms, photovoltaic and wind power plants turn out to be much more expensive than nuclear powerplants. %K Energy efficiency %K Energy sources %K Modernization costs %U http://www.papers.itc.pw.edu.pl/index.php/JPT/article/view/281/503
