%X El presente art赤culo pretende aportar una mirada descriptiva y comparativa al proceso de construcci車n de conocimiento social sobre el Programa de Pasant赤as al Exterior (en adelante PBE) y la utilidad que este puede tener para el desarrollo profesional de los docentes de Educaci車n General B芍sica del pa赤s. Concretamente, se pretendi車 medir el impacto de tal programa en una de las competencias profesionales modificables del docente, a saber: la innovaci車n en las pr芍cticas pedag車gicas This article aims mainly at providing the construction process of the social knowledge about the Abroad Training Program with a descriptive and comparative view. It also deals with the use fulness this could have for the professional development of primary school teachers in the country. In fact, this study weighs the impact of such program upon one of the teacher's modifiable professional competence, namely, the innovation in pedagogical practices
