%X Catalonia is known to be the main point of settlement of the Moroccan population in Spain. Moroccans start their presence in the decade of the 1970s, representing one of the most ancient and consolidated migratory flows. One out of three Moroccans in Spain live in Catalonia, a region that is an initial point of attraction as well as a point of reception of the residential mobility produced in Spain. In Catalonia this population is characterized in comparison with other nationalities by a greater settlement, by a strong territorial dispersion and the presence of nuclear families, or by an upper proportion of homeowners in comparison to other groups of more recent insertion. The purpose of this work is to plot a panoramic view of this settlement taking into account the territorial diffusion, the insertion in the job market and the family and residential structure from 1991 until 2006. The evolution of Moroccan population will be compared with the evolution of the whole of the foreign population. Catalu a destaca por ser el principal punto de asentamiento de la poblaci車n marroqu赤 en Espa a, con una presencia inicial que se remonta a la d谷cada de los setenta, representado una de las corrientes migratorias m芍s antiguas y consolidadas. Uno de cada tres marroqu赤es que residen en Espa a se encuentra en Catalu a, actuando tanto como punto inicial de atracci車n como de recepci車n de la movilidad residencial producida en Espa a. Esta poblaci車n, en Catalu a, se caracteriza en comparaci車n con otras nacionalidades por un mayor asentamiento, con una fuerte dispersi車n territorial, una mayor representaci車n de n迆cleos familiares, o una proporci車n superior de residentes en viviendas de propiedad en comparaci車n a otros colectivos de inserci車n m芍s reciente. El prop車sito de este trabajo es trazar una panor芍mica de ese asentamiento tomando como muestra la difusi車n territorial, la inserci車n en el mercado laboral y la estructura familiar y residencial desde 1991 hasta 2006, cotejando esa evoluci車n con el conjunto de la poblaci車n extranjera.
