%X Este trabajo es un an芍lisis hist車rico de los inicios del turismo organizado en la ciudad de Petr車polis a trav谷s de los textos e im芍genes publicadas a principios del siglo XX. El objetivo general del trabajo fue analizar a trav谷s de una perspectiva hist車rica la forma en que se origin車 la construcci車n de la llamada "naturaleza tur赤stica" de Petr車polis, El objetivo espec赤fico, pretendi車 comprender e identificar las principales narrativas e im芍genes que sustentan esa construcci車n cultural, destacando su origen entre los a os 1900 y 1930. El estudio fue realizado a trav谷s de la bibliograf赤a t谷cnico-cient赤fica existente; y tambi谷n se utiliz車 la investigaci車n documental e iconogr芍fica, que inclu赤a narrativas e im芍genes del turismo en Petr車polis en sus inicios. Se pretendi車 no s車lo insertar a Petr車polis en una posible cronolog赤a hist車rica del turismo brasile o, sino tambi谷n sensibilizar a los investigadores del 芍rea sobre la necesidad de invertir en estudios emp赤ricos de naturaleza hist車rica en el campo del turismo en los diferentes municipios brasile os, as赤 como en Brasil como un todo. This paper is an historical analysis of the early organized tourism in the city of Petr車polis through the narratives and images produced at the beginning of the 20th century. As a general objective, this paper intended to analyze how the construction of the so-called "tourist nature" of Petr車polis originated, by means of a historical perspective. The specific objective was to understand and identify the main narratives and images which support this cultural construction, emphasizing its origins between 1900 and 1930. The study was developed with the resource of the existing technical and scientific literature as well as documentary and iconographic research which depicted narratives and images of tourism in Petr車polis at the outset of its organization. The aim of this work was not only to propose the insertion of Petr車polis in a possible chronology of Brazilian tourism, but also to provoke and sensitize researchers of the field to the need of investments in empirical researches of historical nature in the field of tourism in the different Brazilian cities, as well as in Brazil as a whole.
