%X Esta investigaci¨®n caracteriza la oferta tur¨ªstica y el perfil sociocultural de los empresarios tur¨ªsticos del Borde Costero de La Araucan¨ªa. Para ello se analiz¨® la oferta tur¨ªstica de acuerdo a lo propuesto por Leiva (1997), haciendo ¨¦nfasis en las cuatro comunas que forman parte de este territorio que presenta atractivos naturales y culturales relevantes alcanzando un total de 140. Junto con ello, se analiz¨® el perfil sociocultural a trav¨¦s de la noci¨®n de habitus planteada por Bourdieu y Waquant (2005)que permiti¨® reconocer dos perfiles de empresarios tur¨ªsticos, uno con bajo nivel de experticia en el rubro (dados los indicadores de educaci¨®n y pobreza) y cuya elecci¨®n de la actividad descansa en los esfuerzos realizados desde la institucionalidad y otro que, a partir del etnoturismo, ha consolidado una oferta tur¨ªstica de nivel internacional, asociadas a otros oferentes tur¨ªsticos de la regi¨®n de La Araucan¨ªa. This research characterizes the tourist offer and sociocultural profile of the tourist businessmen of La Araucania Coastline. The tourist offer was analyzed according to proposal of Lewis (1997), making emphasis on the four municipalities that are part of this territory and have significant natural and cultural attractions reaching a total of 140. Along with this, the socio-cultural profile was examined through the notion of habitus proposed by Bourdieu and Waquant (2005) that allowed recognizing two profiles of tourism businessmen, one of them with a low level of expertise in the business (given the education and poverty indicators ) whose choice of activity rests in the efforts made by the Government and by others which from the ethno-tourism perspective have built a tourism offer of international level associated with other tourist providers in La Araucania region.
