%X This article focuses thetransformations made by theconstruction of the BR-101 (a federalroad), between 1950-1970, in the cityof Itapema (SC) and in its inhabitants,whose, when faced the construction ofthe road, started to see their spaceswith new meanings, due the modernitythat it was presented. The text alsoapproaches the way that theinhabitants tried to deal with thesereconstructions.
