%X El registro de Ceramium clarionense en la costa de Venezuela representa la primera cita de esta especie para el Mar Caribe. Se caracteriza por la presencia de siete a ocho c¨¦lulas periaxiales, cada una produciendo una c¨¦lula pseudoperiaxial, una o dos hileras de c¨¦lulas bas¨ªpetas, abundantes ramas adventicias, ¨¢pices fuertemente forcipados y tetrasporangios emergentes en verticilos y con involucros corticales. Se presenta una descripci¨®n de la especie con datos morfol¨®gicos, vegetativos y reproductivos. The occurrence of Ceramium clarionense from Venezuela coast is the first report in the Caribbean Sea. This is characterized by seven-eight periaxials cells, each one laterally producing a pseudoperiaxial cell, one to two rows of basipetals cells, adventitious branches frequent, forcipate apices and emergent tetrasporangia whorled with cortical involucres. A description of the species is presented with vegetative and reproductive morphological data.
