The experiment was conducted on 106 pigs (LW x L). The polymorphism of MC5R gene was analyzed by PCR-RFLP method using the BsaHI restriction enzyme. Two genotypes were identified, AA (72.64%) and AG (27.36%) genotype. In the test group we found clearly observed a higher frequency ofA allele(0.8633) compared with the G allele (0.1367).In this study, significant differences were observed in MC5R (BsaHI) between genotypes for ADG (p ¡Ü 0.01), feed intake (p ¡Ü 0.001) and feed conversion (p ¡Ü 0.001), in favor of the AG genotype. We observed a weak association between the A303G polymorphism system and carcass (MLT - p ¡Ü 0.05) and physicochemical (pH 1 MLT - p ¡Ü 0.05) characteristics. No significant differences were found in other parameters. %K production traits %K MC5R gene %K polymorphism %K pig %U http://www.jmbfs.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Kovacik.pdf
