%X What is unintelligible with delusion? In Jaspers' 'General Psychopathology' we become aware of a threefold distinction: First there is all that is intelligible: psychic development (the matter of psychology); second all that is unintelligible but explainable: somatic processes (the matter of biology); and third all that is unintelligible and unexplainable: spiritual phenomena, for instance freedom (the matter of philosophy). Since delusion in Jaspers' view is unintelligible but explainable - it traces back to somatic processes - it is for him, surprisingly, not a matter of philosophy. The following text deals with the paradoxes and consequences of such a view.
