The landfill impact as a result of the production and disposal of based plastics in thenature is a potential threat to the environmental due to the large period of biodegradable. The addition ofsynthetic fibres into different classes of materials has been the focus of much research as an alternative ofplastic recycling. This work investigates the effect of plastic fibres and silica particles addition into polymericcomposites. A full factorial design of 23 was set based on the following experimental factors: silica particles, volume fraction and width of PET fibres. The investigated responses were: bulk density, tensile strength andmodulus of elasticity. The composites showed satisfactory properties, being able to recycle waste PET bottlesas a sustainable material for some areas of engineering. %K composite laminate %K PET fiber %K sustainability %K mechanical properties %U http://www.uff.br/engevista/seer/index.php/engevista/article/view/335/185
