A importancia da convec o e da intera o n o-linear com a topografia para as brisas no Estado da Para¨ªba foi avaliada com base em quatro simula es: (i) com topografia e com convec o; (ii) com topografia e sem convec o. Observou-se que a convec o pode contribuir ou n o The Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS) v3b is used to simulate breeze-like circulations in Para¨ªbastate, Northeast Brazil. Four two-dimensional model simulations allow to evaluate the importance of topography, convection and their nonlinear interation for breezes formation and development by means of differencesbetween experiments; (i) with topography and convection; (ii) with topography, without convection; (iii) withouttopography, with convection, and (iv) without topography and convection. The 48 hour-long simulations areinitialized from a homogeneous atmosphere at rest, based on a thermodynamic vertical profile obtained inCampina Grande (7o13¡¯S, 35o53¡¯W, 547m), located in Para¨ªba. Results show; (i) The sea breeze attains itsmaximum strength of 2.5 ms-1 between 17 and 18 LT, in accordance with observations; its westernmost positionis reached around 24 LT; (ii) The convection can favour or not sea breeze formation, and development; (iii) Thenonlinear interaction between topography and convection preserves main characteristics of both effects, such asthe longitudinal organization of the convergence/divergence areas and upper level divergence. %K numerical modeling %K breezes %K convection %U http://189.20.243.4/ojs/engenhariaambiental/include/getdoc.php?id=1635&article=577&mode=pdf
