%0 Journal Article %T The Effect of Problem Solving Teaching with Texts of Turkish Lesson on Students¡¯ Problem Solving Skills %A Havva ILGIN %A Derya ARSLAN %J Journal of Kirsehir Education Faculty %D 2012 %I Ahi Evran University %X In this research, by carrying out activities based on texts, effect of providing problem solving skill on students¡¯ levels of problem solving attainment was tried to be identified. Research was performed according to pretest-posttest Experimental Model with Control Group, in 2008-2009 educational year at second grade of an elementary school in Denizli province. For nine weeks, four hours in a week, while teacher guide book was being followed in control group in Turkish language lesson, texts were carried out with problem solving activities in experimental group. In the research, ¡°Problem Solving Test¡± which were used as data collection tools, were developed by benefiting from matching of attainment-problem solving steps-cognitive domain steps. Problem Solving Test is made up of 16 multiple choice and 9 open ended questions. In the analysis of data, t test was used. It was found that problem solving teaching succeeded at ¡°identifying different possible solutions in the light of collected data, applying the decided way of solution, evaluating types of solutions, evaluating used problem solving method¡± stages of problem solving. %K Problem solving %K Problem solving activities %K Second grade Turkish lesson %U http://kefad.ahievran.edu.tr/archieve/pdfler/Cilt13Sayi2/JKEF_13_2_2012_157-176.pdf
