It’s found that thermal insulation is resulted from the absorbance of the infrared light by antimony doped nano-SnO2 particles in the composite coatings. Thermal insulation measurement results show that under illumination of sunlight, the temperature of the coated glass surface increases, while the temperature inside the measurement box decrease as much as 17.5 Therefore, antimony doped nano-SnO2/waterborne polyurethane composite coatings are cost effective thermal insulating coating due to many advantages such as low cost, chemically stable, and easy in process. %K
