%T About the Name of the ˇ°Bodon ar-Munghahˇ±

%X Bodonchar which is the name of the ancester of Chinggis khan is written in several forms in mongolian sources. We considered it bodon-char by ethimologic views. Regarding to mongolian myth and ethos, we suggest Bodonchar is a traditional name which have meaning of intellectual, rational and heroic. But Char is a version of title which early Turkic, Uyghur, and Kirgiz leaders used to use before or after their name. Also ˇ°munghahˇ±, the word mentioned with his name, have meaning of thornless. In other words it has a meaning of not have might and kind of shaming nickname.
