The co-intercalation compounds with different molar ratios of donor to acceptor in the solid products were obtained by controlling ion-exchange time, temperature, and the molar ratio of donor to acceptor in the solution. The obtained co-intercalation compounds were characterized by X-ray diffraction, infrared and thermogravimetry techniques. The photochemical properties of the obtained compounds were studied by UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy. These results indicate that the pair of chromophores, 3-CCA and 9-ACA within the interlayer region of the host can give rise to energy transfer processes because of the characteristics of their excited states. %K hydrotalcites %K co-intercalation %K donor-acceptor %K energy transfer %U http://www.jim.org.cn/fileup/PDF/20090529.pdf
