In this paper we illustrate practical persistence by computing, using multiple Liapunov functions, such estimates for a few basic examples of competition and predator-prey type which may include time delays in the net per capita growth rates. %K Uniform persistence %K practical persistence %K Kolmogorov population models %K retarded functional differential equations. %U http://ejde.math.txstate.edu/conf-proc/01/c1/abstr.html
