DERV£¿£¿OGLU %J Journal of International Social Research %D 2009 %I Journal of International Social Research %X The existence of the missioners from American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions ABCFM community in Sivas is extended to 1848. When they chose the Ottoman Land as aim for themselves, they were dreaming about bringing the Muslims into Christian world.They have experienced that it wasn¡¯t possible in a short period.They have settled the Armenian and Byzantine Greek people onto the focus of their study. It can be understood that missioners have failed in making Aermenians Protestant as only a few Armenians apostasied. After a while , missioners have chosen Armenians and partly Byzantine Greeks as target society for themselves. The missioners; of ABCFM community built in America in 1810, Pleny Fisk and Levi Parsons have established the first mission at Anatolian by coming to zmir in 1920. this has been followed by activities in stanbul (1831), Trabzon (1835), Erzurum (1839), Antep (1847), Sivas (1851), Adana (1852), Merzifon (1852), Diyarbak r( 1853), Kayseri (Talas 1854), Harput (1855). The mission has continued its existence over 70 years in Sivas.
