%X Intra-industry trade (IIT), a recently emerging concept in the foreign tradelitareture, is defined as exchange of goods in forms of export and import within the same industry. Purpose of this study is to examine the intra-industry tradedevelopment of the Turkish chemical industry export/import activity with someforefront countries such as, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Greece, Holland,Spain, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Belgium, England, Denmark, Poland,Czech Republic of European Union member countries and Bulgaria, Romania ofEU candidate countries; Russian Federation, Ukraine and China. First, staticanalysis has been made, with data of chemical industry product category inaccordance with 5 digit SITC Rev.3 for the period of 1990-2005. Then, dynamicanalysis has been conducted to determine marginal intra industry trade usingBr¨¹lhart¡¯s A and B indexes.
