Related literature has tended to focus on emergence and diffusion of management fashions, roles of fashion suppliers and adopters. Some recent criticism, however, emphasizes drawbacks of the use of commercial product analogy, presumed roles of agents and highlights to the importance of contextuality and interpretation during the adoption process.
