%X In some multiple myeloma cases, symptoms of amyloidosis are exhibited more prominently than symptoms of multiple myeloma. These cases are believed to have poorer prognosis compared to those in whom the major symptom is not amyloidosis. On the other hand, the prognosis of patients in whom amyloidosis is associated with peripheral neuropathy is poor, and suitable therapeutics has not been established. In this paper, we report a case of severe orthostatic hypotension as the major symptom associated with systemic amyloidosis. The patient was treated with bortezomib followed by autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. This case was rare in that after relapse; amyloid protein was deposited in different organs, resulting in treatment resistance.
