%X This study takes its starting point from an empirical research conducted within the project AdequateInformation Management in Europe (AIM)1. It is based on a sample of qualitative semi-structured in-depthinterviews with eight editors and journalists working for Romanian newspapers and television stations,responsible of the ¡°EU beat¡± in their newsrooms, and with nine Romanian correspondents in Brussels. Theanalysis of the interviews, built on the constructionist paradigm, outlines journalists¡¯ experience with thecoverage of the European Union issues, their professional self-understanding and their interactions with the EUinstitutions and fellow journalists within an environment of set standards and routines.
