%X This article deals with the expansionist policy of Russia in Caucasus and military-diplomatic preparation of Peter the Great for the realization his plan towards Safavids state¡¯s provinces near the Caspian Sea. The article researches the character of relations between Russia, Safavids state and Ottoman Empire, and analyses the character of conflicts arising between these states.
