%X El video es considerado como un medio de ense anza de gran utilidad en las ciencias m¨¦dicas. Teniendo en cuenta este planteamiento, se realiz¨® una revisi¨®n documental a fin de detallar las caracter¨ªsticas generales de este medio de ense anza y la necesidad de evolucionar hacia formas m¨¢s interactivas. Se citaron algunos antecedentes de esta tem¨¢tica y las experiencias del programa cubano de educaci¨®n m¨¦dica dentro y fuera del pa¨ªs. Se propuso la utilizaci¨®n de la tecnolog¨ªa de disco vers¨¢til digital para dar soporte a una nueva forma de video como medio did¨¢ctico Video is considered as a very useful teaching aid in medical sciences. Taking into account this statement, a documentary review was made to detail the general characteristics of this teaching aid and the need of evolving into more interactive forms. Some antecedents of this topic and the experience of the Cuban medical education program in and out of the country were quoted. The use of Digital Versatile Disk technology to support the new video modality as a teaching aid was suggested.
