%X Il s¡¯agit ici de d¨¦crire le contexte d¡¯apparition du syntagme   baroque occitan  , et de produire l¡¯analyse des op¨¦rations permises par celui-ci, ¨¤ travers l¡¯examen des entreprises intellectuelles aff¨¦rentes au baroque de deux de ses principaux promoteurs : F¨¦lix-Marcel Castan et Robert Lafont, figures majeures et antagonistes de l¡¯occitanisme ¨¤ partir de l¡¯imm¨¦diate apr¨¨s guerre. Ainsi nous arr¨ºtons-nous sur le triple enjeu de   l¡¯invention   du baroque occitan : I¨C Conf¨¦rer une dignit¨¦ litt¨¦raire ¨¤ un ensemble d¡¯¨¦crits jusque l¨¤ rel¨¦gu¨¦s au statut de   litt¨¦rature patoise   II¨C Constituer un corpus unifi¨¦ et coh¨¦rent pour une longue p¨¦riode s¡¯¨¦tendant de la deuxi¨¨me moiti¨¦ du xvie si¨¨cle jusqu¡¯¨¤ la R¨¦volution fran aise. III¨C D¨¦finir la sp¨¦cificit¨¦ et l¡¯identit¨¦ culturelle, stylistique et id¨¦ologique, et donc l¡¯autonomie du corpus occitan vis ¨¤ vis de la litt¨¦rature fran aise et des autres litt¨¦ratures europ¨¦ennes (en particulier italienne et espagnole) du d¨¦but de l¡¯¨¦poque moderne. Nous insistons sur l¡¯unit¨¦ de fond des d¨¦marches de Castan et de Lafont ¨¤ propos du baroque mais aussi sur les divergences d¡¯analyse et d¡¯enjeux intellectuels et id¨¦ologiques de leurs entreprises respectives. Our purpose here aims at describing the context of the first appearance of the syntagm ¡°Occitan baroque¡± and to produce an analysis of the operations permitted by it, through the examination of intellectual endeavors related to the baroque of two of its main proponents F¨¦lix Castan-Marcel and Robert Lafont, major and antagonist figures of occitanism in the immediate post war. So we examine the main issues of this ¡°invention¡± of the ¡°Occitan baroque¡± in order: I¨C to give a literary dignity to a set of writings previously relegated to the status of ¡°patois literature¡± II¨C to establish an unified and coherent body of writings for a long period from the second half of the sixteenth century until the French Revolution. III¨C to define the cultural, stylistic and ideological specificity and identity, and therefore the autonomy of the Occitan corpus from the French literature and the other European literatures (in particular Italian and Spanish) of early modern period. We emphasize the fundamental unity of the Castan and Lafont undertakings but also the differences in the analysis and the intellectual and ideological issues of their respective projects.
