A questionnaire-based study was conducted on 648 academicians working in the Universities of Turkey. Data were collected using a Turkish version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory. The burnout levels of the university academicians were found to be average. The results indicated that research assistants reported a higher level of emotional exhaustion than professors. On the other hand, research assistants indicated a higher level of depersonalization than associate professors, and research assistants reported a lower level of personal accomplishments than other academicians. Nevertheless, among the demographic variables, marital status, and age were significantly related to job burnout. Gender was not significantly related to burnout. %K Burnout %K University teacher %K Turkey %K Maslach Burnout Inventory %K Tš¹kenmi lik %K retim eleman %K Tš¹rkiye %K Maslach Tš¹kenmi lik l e i %U http://journal.dogus.edu.tr/index.php/duj/article/view/11
