Because nodes are intermittently connected, the P2P community must replicate and replace files as a function of their popularity to achieve satisfactory performance [6]. This paper attempts to show how the optimisation techniques, particularly the Genetic Algorithms can be applied in optimizing file availability in content distribution optimisation. This algorithm is suitable for an efficient andadaptive replication of files. In order to replicate anoriginal file among group member nodes, the file isdivided into small chips of equal size, and each chipis transferred to a member node in proportion to theprobability of selecting a link. Then, each nodepropagates it to the remaining nodes in the group. The proposed method achieves reduced filereplication time. %K p2p network %K optimisation %K evolutionary technics %K genetic algorithms %U http://electroinf.uoradea.ro/reviste%20CSCS/documente/JCSCS_2009/Articole_pdf_JCSCS_C_nr_1/JCSCS_2009_Nr_1_CS_Popescu2_A_Genetic.pdf
